Spain edged-past 2018 runners-up Brazil in straight sets to complete an all-European semi-final roster at the World Championships in Heraklion.

The Iberian team will confront the hosting nation in the semis, a repetition of the 2018 tournament which saw Greece winning the world title.

Virginia FernandezRoblez made 13 saves to inspire the Spanish to a great victory, while Greece needed the shoot-out to defeat Argentina. 

Germany found little resistance from Portugal in the first set, but the second one was a close-fight.Moellmann scored six of her total eight points and Filter made ten saves, to ensure Germany would move to the semi-finals, where they will meet the Netherlands.

The orange team advanced thanks to Anna Buter’s only save in the dramatic last quarter-final, which was decided in the shoot-out. Krista Mol scored with the last shot of the game to keep the Netherlands’ dream of lifting the trophy alive.
